All the Best

Year: 2009|| Genre: Comedy|| Cast: Ajay Devagan, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Mugdha Godse || Director: Rohit Shetty || Music Director: Pritam||Rating: 3 / 5

Plot : A young dreamer leading his life by the pocket money of his brother lying that he is married and the mess ups he handles along with his friend when his brother lands in his city.

Screen Play: Prem Chopra (Ajay Devgan) is a wannabe car expert, who lives with his beautiful wife Jhanvi (Bipasha Basu). Together, the two of them run Prem’s ancestral gym. Known to them is Veer Kapoor (Fardeen Khan), an upcoming rock band singer who claims to be a married guy. He has a sexy girlfriend Vidya (Mugdha Godse) and lives off the pocket money given by his millionaire brother Dharam Kapoor (Sanjay Dutt).

Everything is going fine in the life of Prem, Jhanvi, Veer and Vidya. However, the peace doesn’t last long, as Dharam enters the city where Veer lives as his fligh gets delayed. Dharam shows up to meet his younger brother and his wife. Mistakenly, he takes Jhanvi as Veer’s wife and Vidya as Prem’s girlfriend. What follows is a comedy of mistaken identities as Prem and Veer pile up lie upon lie to keep the charade going until times comes for Dharam to leave for his home in Lusoto. But then, there’s a coup in Lusoto and Dharam’s stay is extended.

On the sidelines there’s a menagerie of madcap characters including a tenant who’s eager to move into Veer’s sprawling bungalow. He’s turns up with all the furniture loaded in a tempo outside Veer’s house but gets a bashing from Dharam. Or the local don (Johnny Lever) who  talks with his cronies by jangling a spoon inside a glass. Now, Prem and Veer not only have to handle weird characters who turn up at their doorstep, but also cover up things with lots and lots of lies. The action is good but the climax – when a bunch of Africans land up in Goa – gets a bit chaotic.

My Views: Rohit Shetty whos known for his Golmaal Series, keep up his action in All the best too. Though you can ask lots on logical reasoning, movie doesnt fail to make people laugh. So even with the cooked up shots which has turned into a movie does well.

Ajay, Fardeen does well with their comic where Sanjay adds to it. Bips and Mughda are there for the glamour part of it who handles well. Johny and other comical roles which takes part in the story are upto the mark.

Pritam’s tunes doesnt sit for more in your ears. Could have done better with the records of his prev hits.

All in a time pass movie.

Inglorious Bastards

Year: 2009|| Genre: Action, Romance|| Cast: Brad Pitt, Eli Roth, Diane Kruger, Mike Myers || Director: Quentin Tarantino || Rating: 2.5 / 5

Finally movie ends with how successfully she executes the plan and kill all the Nazis including Hitler.

My Views:

Basically its not my kind of a movie and hence promptly didnt liked much.

Humor in the dialogues are commandable and appreciable.

All the actors including Brad Pitt have done amazingly well when it comes to action and expression.

Director is successful in his presentation of a movie which takes u to 1944.

Nice cinematography. Main drawback is, its really hard to believe the history if it had happened the way its shown

Rechipo

Year: 2009|| Genre: Action, Romance|| Cast: Nithin, Ileana || Director: Parachuri Murali || Music Director: Mani Sharma || Rating: 2 / 5

Plot: A thief falling in love with the daughter of a politician where he has robbed and saving his love from the kidnappers.

Screen Play: Shiva(Nithin) is a thief of Robinhood kind who robs from the rich people and distributes to poor people.A huge some of money of 500 crore will be hidden in the Home Minister Ahudi Prasad’s house. The money was seized from a Mafia gang earned through cricket betting. The Police Commissioner of the city is well aware about the nature of Shiva and encourages him in the deed of distributing the money to the poor from the riches. Nitin sketches a plan to rob that 500cr and executes it successfully.

Then he will meet a granny who will be getting ready to goto her relative’s daughter’s marriage and he also joins her. Meanwhile Shiva will see Krishnaveni(Ileana) in a petrol bunk and she play a trick with him. When he reaches the marriage house, he will see Krishnaveni’s car there. So movie will revolve around Shiva and Krishnaveni for some time. One day some gang tries to kidnap Krishnaveni wherein Shiva will rescue her from them. This only reason would be enough for the heroine to fall in love with the hero.

Now Home Minister along with his PA comes to the marriage house. His PA will identify Shiva as the thief and he is the one who robbed minister’s house. By hearing this Krishnaveni will be shocked and will get angry on Shiva will lead to an interval.

Krishnaveni will be kidnapped by the dubai mafia gang to get their 500cr back. By now Shiva will be in the police custody and as per the commissioner’s suggestion, minister will plead Shiva to save his daughter from the mafia gang so that he will close all the cases against him. Shiva flies to dubai and saves Krishnaveni from the don. Then they will start travelling 700miles to reach an airport for which they will have to pass dessert aswell. Finally he saves her and Krishnaveni will like Shiva after all these :)

My View:

Nithin looks average with his acting while dances well. Illeana adds color to the screen. Looks pretty in the movie and will attract audience. Other supporting characters have done justice to their roles. Comedy will create a smile but fails to make u laugh.

Nothing special with the Parachuri Murali’s direction. A normal subject shown straight without any experiments.

Mani Sharma’s music fails to get the listeners for the second time.

Cinematography is upto the standards of tollywood.

A normal script shown in a very normal way !!!

Wake Up S!d

Year: 2009|| Genre: Drama || Cast: Ranbeer Kapoor, Konkana Sen Sharma, Anupam Kher || Director: Ayan Mukherjee || Music Director: Shankar Ehsaan Loy || Rating: 3 / 5

Plot: A girl Aisha(Konkana Sen Sharma) who will be a new girl to Bombay enters into a young aimless guy S!d’s(Ranbir Kapoor)  life and makes him a perfect man.

He continues to enjoy all the perks of a rich spoilt brat thanks to his lenient parents (Anupam and Supriya). At his college farewell bash, he meets a “new girl in the city’ Aisha (Konkona). Around seven years older to him in age, Aisha has arrived from Kolkata to become a writer. They gradually become good friends and he even helps her in settling down in her newly rented flat. However, all hell breaks lose in Sid’s life when he fails in his graduation exams. He has a tiff with best friend since childhood. When his father confronts him over his rude behaviour with his mom, in a fit of rage Sid leaves his house forever. He heads straight to Aisha’s flat. Both start staying together with an understanding they are just friends and nothing else. Anyways, Aisha considers Sid not her type since according to her he is still a boy and not a “man’ yet. As days pass by Sid’s non disciplinary behaviour starts grating on Aisha’s nerves. But Sid mends his ways faster and thus begins his journey from a boy to becoming a man.

Now Aisha identifies his photographic skills and introduces him to ‘Mumbai Beats’ where she will also be working.  He slowly understands life and takes it seriously. His father will be very happy and offers him to come back to his home. Sid get ready to leave Aisha’s flat which when Aisha realizes her interest on Sid and even Sid aswell. Finally they both proposes at the end.

My View:

Debutante writer-director Ayan Mukherjee in his first attempt has managed to strike a chord with the youngsters and their parents alike. Many wonderfully written, handled and enacted sequences leave you mightily impressed, teary eyed and even laughing out loud at times. Be it Ranbir’s tiff with his mother, his breakdown on arrival at Konkona’s doorsteps, Konkona’s interview with her magazine editor played by Rahul Khanna, Konkona lashing out Ranbir on making a mess of her house and the sequences following it, Ranbir meeting his father after he gets his first paycheck. There is no heavy duty sermonizing in the film and the lingo used is fairly relatable. Though most of the times the film succeeds in remaining realistic, certain solutions connected to Ranbir appear to simplistic. Also, you sense it from a mile away that the two good friends are finally end up falling for each other even though they keep on denying this fact to themselves and others around them.

Music by Shankar Ehsaan Loy is fresh.

Ranbir has delivered one of his finest performances with his excellent expressions in different situations and has succeeded in showing the gradual change in his character.

Konkona plays the perfect opposite to his character and suits the role. Their awkward chemistry is likeable. Rahul Khanna in a small role leaves his mark. His expressions reveal a lot when Konkona admits she hates Jazz. The actors playing Ranbir’s friends are very good. Veterans Anupam Kher and Supriya Pathak are wonderful. New girl Kainaz Motivala playing Ranbir’s colleague is very impressive.

Watch it for the innovative handling of the subject by debutante director and some really good performances by every single cast member.

Do Not Disturb

Year: 2009|| Genre: Comedy || Cast: Govinda, Sushmitha Sen, Lara Dutta, Rithesh Deshmukh  || Director: David Dhawan || Music Director: Nadeem Shravan || Rating:  1 / 5

Still the unsatisfied Sush appoints a private detective (Ranvir Shenoy) to keep an eye on her husband Govinda. Meanwhile, Govinda finds Rithesh and asks him to act as a boy friend for Dolly and he accepts with pleasure as Dolly will be his dream girl. Apart from that Rithesh blackmails Govinda and takes a lot of favor from him. Now Dolly and Rithesh acts as lovers to win over Sush.

Detective follows them there aswell and clicks some photograph of them dancing. In the course, detective looses his memory as a window pane hits him. Now all the drama happens between Govinda, Dolly, Rithesh and a Detective.

At the climax, Rithesh makes dolly to realize that Sohail Khan is the real lover and makes her to go with him. Rithesh engages with a nurse who will be taking care of his mother in the hospital. While Govinda escapes as a detective had lost his memory. Now a detective gets back his memory and comes to Sush to prove Govinda’s affair. Finally movie ends with the  Sush screaming at Govinda by seeing those pics which were captured in the detective’s camera.

My View:

Bad script and Bad narration taken up by David Dhawan.

Successfull pair of David and Govinda have failed very badly.

Sushmitha have put up so much of weight and looks bad while Lara over acts in every scene showing her skin.

Rithesh is ok with his comedy timing.

Nadeem-Shravan have flopped to give good tunes. Doesnt even stay in mind for a second.

Waste of Money and Time !!!!

When Manohar comes back to the normal living, the people will still think he is mad and laugh at him. He starts feeling everybody are laughing at him. Meanwhile, Devaki also comes to Manohar with the help of doctor and they fades away together…..

My Views:

Actors : Diganth and Andritha have justified their roles. Hoskoti excels in his comedy timing and others have acted their part.

Music : Mano Murty has given good tunes after couple of his non-hit movies. “Ello Maleyaagide Indu” sung by Sonu Nigam stands first of all. “Naa naguva modalene” and “Ondu Kanasu” follows it.

Camera : Satya Hegde is good in handling camera. He has done a nice job the whole movie. He could have done better in “Ondu Kanasu” Song.

Direction : Yograj Bhat having Mungaaru Male and Gaalipata fame doesnt hold the script so tightly. It just runs with its dialogues.

Script:

  • None of them in the mental hospital looks like mad people.
  • Escape from Kamanabillu is so easy.
  • An external person can easily wear a patients dress and enter inside the hospital.

He give away the message saying Youth is not just to enjoy the life but should also study n be the responsible citizen of India.

View:
